AMISOM Commander Visits Dhobley Troops Serving on the Frontline

Lt. Gen. Tigabu Yilma, AMISOM Force Commander, visited troops serving in Dhobley on the frontline. The purpose of the visit was to check the condition they are in and evaluate their operational plans.

Forces in Dhobley, Jubaland are part of the contingent known as AMISOM Sector 2. They mostly comprise soldiers from Kenyan Defense Force (KDF). AMISOM has five sectors around Somalia, which its soldiers serve.

AMISOM troops work in close collaboration with troops from Somali National Army (SNA) around the nation to make sure that stability, security, and peace reign in the country once more after years of civil war.

Brig. Gen. Dickson Rutto of KDF who also serves as the Sector 2 Commander was on hand to welcome Lt. Gen. Yilma in Dhobley. He briefed the AMISOM Force Commander on the achievements of his contingent.

All contingents must adhere to the AMISOM Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Somalia Transitional Plan (STP). CONOPS guides the operational aspect of the mission. STP outlines the process AMISOM will follow to relinquish all security responsibilities to Somali Police Force.
