African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has commended the governments of Kenya, Somali, and Ethiopia for the decision to conduct a joint investigation into Bardale plane crash.
In yesterday’s press release, AMISOM extended its “heartfelt condolences” to families of the six individuals – four passengers and two crewmembers – who died in the crash incident.
Further, AMISOM also said that it “welcomes” the decision by the three countries’ top leadership to investigate the incident jointly.
Ambassador Francisco Madeira, the Head of Mission for AMISOM, pledged the organization’s “continued solidarity” with the three countries as they embark on a joint probe.
Multiple reports said that Ethiopian troops fired a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) at the plane owned by a Kenyan firm, African Express, at an airport in Somalia’s Southwest State.
