The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has condemned the recent terrorist attack in Mogadishu.
In a statement published on November 26, AMISOM called the attack “cowardly.”
The attack, which took place on Thursday morning, left scores of innocent civilians dead and many others injured.
Many of those killed and injured in the attack were students.
The incident took place in Hodan district near a school.
AMISOM said that none of its convoy or personnel was at the scene. It also stated that none of its assets was damaged in the attack.
Initial reports by security agencies indicate that a private security firm was the target of the deadly attack.
