A delegation from the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) visited Galmudug’s President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor in Dhusamareb on October 10.
Lieutenant General Diomede Ndegeya, the Commander of the AMISOM Force, led the delegation in visiting Qoorqoor and other senior Galmudug leaders.
While in the area, Lt. Gen. Ndegeya led his officers in assessing the welfare of his troops in the region and their operational capacity for securing the upcoming elections.
The AMISOM delegation also toured the local Forward Operating Base (FOB), which is in Dhusamareb.
They visited one polling station before proceeding to the Presidential Palace for a closed-door meeting with Qoorqoor.
Lt. Gen. Ndegeya expressed delight at the level of preparedness his troops exhibited for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Galmudug.
