AMISOM Donates Foodstuff and Medical Supplies to Gedo Hospital

African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) donated foodstuff and medical supplies to a hospital in Gedo, Jubbaland.

AMISOM’s Sector 2 Unit, which is based in the region, facilitated the donation to Elwak District Hospital, in the hotly disputed region.

The donation took place on January 13.

On the same day, AMISOM’s Kenyan Defense Forces (KDF) troops also handed over 36 desks to Harweyn Primary School, Gedo.

Lt. Col. Said Katera, Commanding Officer of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion (1MIB), handed over the foodstuff, medical supplies, and desks on behalf of AMISOM.

As he handed the donation over to the recipients, Lt. Col. Katera commended members of the local community for the support and cooperation they offer to AMISOM forces.
