AMISOM Hands Over Projects to IDPs in Jowhar

African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has handed over several projects designed to benefit internally displaced persons in Jowhar.

AMISOM troops in the region handed over the projects on December 5.

It did so as part of the Quick Impact Projects (QUIPs), which seeks to improve the welfare of the local people.

Some of the projects AMISOM handed over include a meat market, newly constructed school, and water drinking facilities.

Others were sports kits and a shallow well.

Apart from those, the AMISOM troops donated 7,500kgs of rice, 4,500 liters of cooking oil, and 4,500kgs of sugar.

Representatives from the HirShabelle administration joined Dr. Opiyo Ododa, the AMISOM Senior Civil Affairs Officer, at the handing over ceremony on Sunday.
