The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has received an assortment of medical supplies from the US Army.
The US Army donated the supplies to AMISOM troops on Tuesday, September 9.
AMISOM acknowledged the donation, which it plans to distribute to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the areas it controls.
Specifically, AMISOM indicated that the supplies would be distributed mostly in South Central parts of the country.
Moreover, the organization specified that the supplies, which include sanitary items too, would help IDPs and health officials to combat the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
