Sector commanders of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) met in Mogadishu to discuss their operations.
Top of the list was a discussion on the plan to reduce AMISOM’s military personnel following UN Security Council’s recommendations.
AMISOM’s Contingent Commanders also sought to come to one accord on operational matters.
The meeting took place ahead of the Operations Coordination Committee (OCC) meeting expected to take place from February 3-5, 2020.
Several top military officials will be at the OCC meeting. These include AMISOM commanders and international partners.
Officials from countries that contribute their troops to AMISOM will also attend the 2-day OCC forum. The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) will send its representatives too.
