African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has concluded two-day training on human rights for 25 officers from Ethiopia.
The training, which was conducted online, lasted from Wednesday to Thursday.
AMISOM announced that the training was part of its efforts geared towards ensuring that all its personnel in Somalia are up to date on human rights and laws on humanitarianism.
Kareem Adebayo, AMISOM’s Head of the Protection, Human Rights, and Gender Cluster, encouraged the officers to apply the knowledge acquired to perform their duties effectively.
Adebayo spoke on behalf of Ambassador Francisco Madeira, the Head of AMISOM.
He lauded the officers for showing up for the training.
Further, Adebayo said that their attendance proves that they are committed to protecting human rights in the East African nation.
