AMISOM Troops Distribute Food Supplies in Baidoa

African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has distributed tons of food supplies to needy families in Baidoa.

Southwest State, especially its administrative capital of Baidoa, is home to AMISOM’s Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF).

On January 26, the troops gathered in the city to distribute different food supplies to civilians in the Southwest capital.

Baidoa holds a significant number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The IDPs are in homeless because of different reasons. Some of them lost their homes to the recent incessant flooding.

Insecurity in the region has also created tons of homeless people who were then forced to make their way to the nearest IDP camp.

The IDPs are unable to feed themselves or their families.

The fact that they are incapable of finding work or earning a livelihood worsened an already dire situation hence, the decision by AMISOM to donate the food supplies.
