African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops made tons of donations to drought-stricken families in Tabda.
AMISOM’s Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) contingent made the donations on March 9.
The donations included food, medical supplies, and water.
AMISOM announced that the supplies would cushion local residents from the adverse effects of the ongoing drought.
Major Gichubi Waweru, the Officer Commanding AMISOM’s troops in Tabda, confirmed the donation on Wednesday.
He reiterated KDF’s commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of the locals in the area.
The locals expressed their gratitude to the KDF and AMISOM soldiers for the kind gesture.
They vowed to work closely with AMISOM and KDF forces in the region to identify and eradicate Al-Shabaab militants.
