The new commander of the Sector IV of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has assumed office.
Col. Hassan Jama Farah from Djibouti commenced his duties on Monday, August 30. He arrived in Beletweyne to start working.
Upon arrival, Col. Farah met with senior AMISOM officers based in the region. The officers briefed him on the current security situation.
Col. Farah vowed to strengthen collaboration between AMISOM officers and Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers.
He takes over from Col. Abdirahman Riyale Hared who completed his tour of duty recently.
Soldiers who serve in AMISOM’s Sector IV unit are from Djibouti and Ethiopia.
