Ms. Anita Kiki Gbeho paid a courtesy call on Somalia’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Kiki Gbeho is the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Somalia and Officer-in-Charge of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
She visited Abshir Omar Jama, the foreign affairs minister, on August 18.
During the visit, the two discussed several issues.
Kiki Gbeho briefed Jama on the various UN development programs around the East African nation.
She briefed him on state-building and humanitarian efforts as well.
Jama reminded the UN Deputy Special Representative that Somalia needs a fresh flow of humanitarian supplies to reach vulnerable individuals and households around the country.
He spoke to her about the current political and security developments in Somalia too.
