The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has congratulated Said Abdullahi Deni on his re-election as the President of the regional state of Puntland.
ATMIS extended the congratulatory message on Tuesday.
Deni emerged victorious in the elections that were carried out by 66 regional Members of Parliament (MPs) on Monday.
He won 45 votes in the third round of voting compared to his closest challenger who garnered 21.
ATMIS conveyed similar message to Ilyas Osman Lugatoor who was elected the new Vice President of Puntland.
