The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has handed over seven Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) to the Somali National Army (SNA).
ATMIS handed over the military bases on Monday.
It did so as part of Phase 2 of the drawdown of ATMIS forces in the country as per the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2710.
Two more FOBs were closed thus raising the number of the military bases that ATMIS handed over in yesterday’s function to nine.
