The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) announced that it has helped to train 8,167 police officers in Somalia.
ATMIS made this announcement on September 17.
The organization said that it trained these officers from 2009 to 2022. During that time, all the officers it helped to train joined Somali Police Force (SPF).
ATMIS’ Police Unit also added that it would continue supporting SPF to recruit officers since that is part of its mandate.
