ATMIS Intensifies Security in Bulo Marer Following Recent Terror Attack

The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) intensified security in Bulo Marer following a recent terror attack in the region.

ATMIS announced the new measures on Thursday.

This follows a meeting between Souef Mohamed El-Amine, the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the AU Commission (SRCC), and Mohamed Abdi Ware.

Ware, a former President of the regional state of HirShabelle, met with El-Amine in his capacity as the Special Presidential Envoy for Civilian Protection and Stabilization.

During their meeting, they discussed the deadly attack in Bulo Marer.

The attack led to the deaths of 54 ATMIS soldiers from Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF).
