The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has joined the rest of the country in mourning the death of a top Somali minister.
ATMIS send condolences to the federal government following news of the sudden death of Khadija M. Diriye on Wednesday.
Diriye, the Minister of Women and Human Rights, passed away in Djibouti.
ATMIS commended Diriye for the role she played in improving the well-being of the women and girls of Somalia.
The communique from ATMIS also recognized Diriye’s role in leading women groups around the country in denouncing terrorist organizations and terrorism.
