The police unit of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) plans to scale up its collaboration with the Somali Police Force (SPF).
Dr. Mohamed Sheikh Al Doodishe, the federal Minister of Internal Security, confirmed this when he held discussions with Souef Mohamed El-Amine.
The minister visited El-Amine at ATMIS offices in Mogadishu.
They discussed measures needed to improve coordination and collaboration between them.
Furthermore, they agreed on the need to scale up the collaboration between their respective police units, especially in Mogadishu.
Hillary Sao Kanu, the ATMIS Police Commissioner, was present at the meeting too.
