African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has trained Somali Police Force (SPF) officers on forensic fingerprint technology.
Detectives from the SPF’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) attended the three-day training conducted by ATMIS officers.
Eleven CID officers attended the training.
The training ended on Tuesday.
Timothy Kashinakazhi, an ATMIS Police Logistics Advisor and a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), addressed the trainees during the closing ceremony.
He told the CID officers that the training they received would help them to handle complex criminal cases, especially those that can’t be unraveled without modern scientific tools.
Major Mohamed Mohamud Ahmed, the head of the CID Forensic Department, expressed gratitude to ATMIS for the training.
