The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) troops from Djibouti and Ethiopia protected a high-level delegation from the United Nations during a visit to Hiiraan on Thursday.
ATMIS troops based in Beledweyne provided the much-needed security jointly with officers from the Somali Police Force (SPF).
They escorted the delegation from World Food Programme, United Nations Children’s Fund, and UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The delegation visited various hospitals and camps for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Qorahsan, Hiiraan.
