The African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) has requested Somalia and Ethiopia to embrace mediation as a way of resolving their issues.
Somalia and Ethiopia have been at loggerheads since January 1.
Their differences emerged from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that Ethiopia signed with Somaliland.
AUPSC held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the growing diplomatic row between Ethiopia and Somalia.
It requested both nations to embrace “meaningful dialogue” to help them resolve their differences.
AUPSC expressed deep concern over the tension and added that the row could jeopardize the peace and stability of the entire region.
