Auditor-General Questions Concession Deals between Somalia and Turkey

The Office of the Auditor-General has questioned concession deals that Somalia signed with two Turkish firms.

Auditor-General Mohamed Ali Afgoi spoke about the concession deals in the Annual Audit Report for 2021 that his office prepared.

In the report, the Auditor-General spoke of concession fees of up to $28,380,031.

He said that his office is unable to ascertain independently whether the fees are stated fairly.

Afgoi also red-flagged $16.9 million paid to three institutions that include the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA).
