Nairobi, Kenya — On Thursday, the Acting Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia, Kareem Adebayo, led a delegation of senior officials on a solidarity visit to AU personnel receiving medical care at various hospitals in Nairobi.
During the visit, Adebayo, who also serves as the Acting Chair of the AU Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), spoke warmly with the recovering officers, commending their courage and unwavering commitment to the mission despite the challenges they faced.
He assured the officers of continued support and expressed heartfelt wishes for their speedy recovery. The visit also allowed the delegation to assess the progress of their treatment and recovery, reinforcing AUSSOM’s dedication to the welfare of its personnel.
The mission was a clear demonstration of the leadership’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by AU forces serving in Somalia to ensure peace and stability.
