African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) troops have completed a two-week Micro Unmanned Aerial Surveillance (MUAS) training at Sector 5 HQ in Jowhar, Hirshabelle State.
Organized by United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS)’s Field Technology Section (FTS), the training enhanced officers’ surveillance skills for joint military operations against illegal armed groups.
At the closing ceremony on Sunday, AUSSOM BNDF Contingent Commander, Col. Oscar Hatungimana urged troops to use their new skills for peace & security in Somalia.
Meanwhile, FTS Coordinator George Dannhauser reminded them of the drone technology’s critical role in strengthening operations & mitigating risks.
