President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sent a plea for drought assistance to Bahrain.
Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame, the Somali Special Envoy for Drought Response, delivered President Mohamud’s plea on Sunday, September 4.
The Special Envoy for Drought Response delivered the message to Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is also the Bahrain Prime Minister.
Warsame arrived in Bahrain a few hours after delivering a similar message to the Qatari government.
Somalia is currently experiencing one of its worst droughts and humanitarian situations.
Millions of people around the country are at risk of suffering starvation, famine, diseases, and death.
Further, Warsame also briefed Prince Al Khalifa on the threats of terrorism to Somalia.
He informed his host about the diverse measures the Somali government has taken to counter the scourge of terror too.
