Residents of a village in Baidoa can now access clean water after the British Embassy in Somalia handed over a new borehole to them.
More than 9,000 families in Hanano Village now have access to clean and safe water.
The borehole was drilled with the support of the British Embassy in Mogadishu.
On Thursday, September 2, officials from the Embassy traveled to the Baidoa village to hand the borehole over to the locals.
UK Aid Direct also funded the borehole’s drilling.
Local residents have suffered for long due to lack of access to sufficient clean and safe water for drinking, cooking, and other domestic needs.
