Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre appointed Ali Mohamed Omar the State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the East African Community (EAC) Affairs.
The Prime Minister appointed Omar in changes announced on Thursday.
Omar’s appointment follows the recent EAC Summit that the Somali government hosted in Mogadishu.
It also comes hot in the heels of Somalia’s entry into the regional economic bloc as the community’s newest member.
