Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre inspected the ongoing construction of the road linking Mogadishu and Jowhar.
The Prime Minister led a delegation comprising government officials in inspecting the road.
Diplomats too joined the inspection team in traveling to Balcad district where phase three of the construction is ongoing.
Barre expressed his delight at the works.
He reiterated the benefits the road is expected to bring to the region. These include improved transportation of people and goods.
Prime Minister Barre hailed the role the road would play in economic development.
