Bay Regional Hospital Celebrates 85 Years of Providing Healthcare to Southwest Residents

Bay Regional Hospital has been celebrating 85 years of providing healthcare to the residents of the Southwest State.

As the main referral hospital in the region, it is a beehive of activity throughout the day and deep into the night.

The hospital provides free healthcare services 24/7.

Each year, the hospital caters to the needs of over 20,000 patients from all the three regions of the Southwest State.

Patients come from as far as Gedo, which is in the neighboring Jubbaland State

The Southwest State administration operates the public health institution on behalf of the taxpayers.

Eighteen doctors are part of the 285-strong workforce ensuring that patients get the topnotch service and care they need.

The hospital was established in 1936.

It has survived years or neglect and terrible or dysfunctional government.
