BBC Thrown out of Somaliland

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has been thrown out of Somaliland.

Saleban Ali Kore, the Minister of Information, said that the government would no longer allow BBC to operate in the country as it had lost its “credibility and neutrality.”

He was speaking while addressing the media in Hargeisa.

“BBC stands suspended from today, July 19, 2022,” Kore said.

He added that several Somaliland citizens had continuously complained that BBC reported news that repeatedly violated the sovereignty of the self-proclaimed state.

BBC is yet to speak on their suspension from Somaliland.
