Dr. Abdirahman Beileh, the Minister of Finance, co-chaired the annual presentation of Somalia’s economic update to the World Bank on Wednesday, October 28.
This year’s presentation mostly focused on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy.
Furthermore, Dr. Beileh and his team from the finance ministry briefed the World Bank representatives on the progress of the economic and fiscal reforms Somalia has undertaken.
Both sides acknowledged that the ongoing reforms have “strengthened Somalia’s economic response to the pandemic.”
Additionally, Beileh also relayed his gratitude to the international partners for ensuring that the country’s reforms enhance its Public Financial Management.
