The Mayor of Beledweyne has been sacked.
Mayor Nadar Tabah Malin was sent packing in an announcement made on Sunday.
Abdi Dahir Gure Karore, HirShabelle’s Minister of Internal Affairs, confirmed the Mayor’s sacking.
Karore said that he sacked Malin.
The minister swiftly replaced Malin with Abdullahi Salad Kugey as the new Mayor of Beledweyne.
Malin’s sacking comes hot on the heels of increased tension between authorities in HirShabelle and Hiiraan over th control of Beledweyne town.
Beledweyne is the administrative capital of Hiiraan.
