Benadir Court Dismisses Corruption Charges against 3 Former Government Officers

The Benadir Regional Court dismissed corruption charges against three former government officials.

On Saturday, the court dismissed the charges previously filed against Mohamed Adam Kofi, Muhuyidin Hassan, and Abdulkadir Elmi.

Kofi and Elmi had both been charged in court owing to the role the prosecution allege they played in embezzling funds at the Immigration and Citizenship Agency.

They were both directors at the agency.

Muhuyidin had been the Head of Inland Revenue at the Ministry of Finance.

The three were among several government officials who had been facing corruption-related and abuse of office charges over the last year or so.
