Traders in Berbera were trained on the new Customs Act and regulations on Wednesday, December 9.
The local customs department trained the traders and clearing agents on the new act and regulations.
Stakeholders from the Ministry of Finance Development, DP World, Somaliland Freight Forwarders Association, and Somaliland Chamber of Commerce, all took part in the training.
Some of the topics tackled during the training included tariff classification and valuation, imports and exports, and simplified transit permits.
This week’s training is the second time that officials in the region are educating traders about the new procedures and acts.
