Bihi Appoints an Executive Committee to Supervise Construction of Berbera Corridor

President Musa Bihi Abdi has appointed an executive committee to supervise the construction of Berbera Corridor in Somaliland.

The construction of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) funded project has already started.

On June 3, 2020, Bihi sent an official letter to ADFD commissioning the project.

The six-member committee comprises engineering and public finance management experts. Bihi has informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the appointment of the six members.

However, it is interesting that President Bihi has not appointed anybody from the Ministry of Road and Transport, which is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads.

Bihi has reiterated that all the six members of the executive unit would be directly accountable to the Office of the President of Somaliland.

The six members were listed as Eng. Maxamuud Cabdi Maxamed, Eng. Abdikarim Hasan Nuur, Eng. Mawlid Nuh Tani, Eng. Ali Yusuf Kahin, Mawlid Mohamed Rabi, and Mukhtar Hussein Mah.

Eng. Maxamed is expected to chair the meeting.
