President Muse Bihi Abdi has condemned the United Nations for censuring Somaliland over the ongoing evictions in Las Anod.
Recently, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) spoke out against the forcible evictions that kicked off on October 2.
On October 18, President Bihi slammed OCHA for the move.
He labeled OCHA a “hypocritical and dishonest) organization.
In his statement, President Bihi stated that OCHA paid more attention on publicity stunts.
He termed OCHA’s condemnation of the forced evictions as “disgraceful” to the UN.
Last week, OCHA issued a report on the evictions. In the report, OCHA indicated that Somaliland had so far expelled 7,250 people from Las Anod.
