President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland held a meeting with the outgoing British Ambassador to Somalia.
Bihi held the meeting with Ben Fender, the British Ambassador to Somalia.
Fender visited Bihi in Hargeisa in the company of Stuart Brown, the Head of the United Kingdom Mission to Somaliland.
They met at the Presidential Palace on January 19.
A statement from the Office of the President said that Ambassador Fender had traveled to Somaliland on a working visit.
During the meeting, Bihi and the diplomats discussed the support Somaliland receives from the UK in social development projects.
Bihi also expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for the support extended to Somaliland in improving the breakaway region’s security.
Fender, who was on his last official working day in the region, thanked Bihi and the people of Somaliland for the support and cooperation accorded to him during his tenure as envoy.
President Bihi commended Fender for the dedication he had displayed to his work in the Horn of Africa region.
