President Muse Bihi Abdi has submitted the names of new electoral commissioners to the House of Representatives for approval.
Bihi submitted the names on June 17.
All previous commissioners of the Somaliland National Electoral Commission (SNEC) resigned from their positions over the last few weeks.
Reports showed that the previous commissioners were at loggerheads.
President Bihi submitted the names of seven prospective electoral commissioners.
The President nominated three commissioners. These are Muse Hassan Yusuf, Ahmed Osman Hassan, and Hussein Abdi Ali.
The elders also picked their preferred commissioners who are Ahmed Yusuf Mohamed and Fatuma Ismail Hassan.
Two opposition parties also picked a commissioner each.
Waddani Party went for Abdiaziz Hirsi Warsame while UCID Party settled on Ibrahim Adan Ali.
