President Muse Bihi Abdi has urged the international community to recognize Somaliland’s sovereignty.
Bihi made this announcement on the last day of the Grand Convention of Kulmiye Party, on whose ticket he was elected President of Somaliland.
At the end of the party’s 4th Convention, he called on the international community to recognize the peace, progress, and free and credible polls the country has organized the last 30 years.
“As a country, it is our right to ask the international community to extend international recognition to Somaliland,” President Bihi told the delegates.
Somaliland broke free from Somalia in 1991 after being one nation since both nations got their independence in 1960.
