Members of Burao City Council have raised concern over the lack of adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines that the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization (WHO) recommended.
According to the councilors, members of the public continue gathering in huge numbers despite warnings to desist from that to help curb the spread of the virulent disease.
The councilors have also asked restaurant owners in Burao to avoid opening their doors to clients who show up in large groups.
Together with the local COVID-19 Prevention Committee, the councilors asked politicians to stop meeting with their supporters in hotels unless they are ready for legal action.
The councilors have also published a book to create more awareness about COVID-19. They have been handing the book to members of the public.
