Calmness in Dhusamareb as Government Troops Push Militias Out of Town

Calmness has returned to Dhusamareb after government troops pushed militias out of the town.

Militants from the moderate Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama’a militia group invaded the town on Thursday night.

Gunfire sounds were heard all over the town early on the morning of Friday, May 13.

Afterward, reports of clashes between the militants and government troops emerged as the latter sought to push the militia out of the town.

Government troops eventually managed to achieve that on Friday evening.

Furthermore, one of the militia’s bases in the Bohol area is now in firm control of the government troops.

Authorities are now busy assessing the extent of the casualties from the incident.
