CCF’s Project Manager in Somaliland Dies of Heart Attack

James Young, the International Project Manager in charge of CCF’s Cheetah Safe House in Somaliland has died of heart attack, the organization has announced.

HIs colleagues said that Young suffered a heart attack in Hargeisa this week and passed away while being rushed to a local hospital.

At the time of his death, Young was under contract fulfilling different duties he was employed to do, which included running day-to-day activities in the Somaliland project.

He has been working for the Somaliland office since May 2019 during which time he also operated to and from his family residence in England.

Following his death, President Muse Bihi of Somaliland sent a message of condolence to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Others whose immediate condolences were received include Somaliland’s Ministry of Environment and Rural Development as well as Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The United States Department of State Regional Wildlife Office and the United Kingdom Foreign Commonwealth Office also condoled with Young’s family, friends, and colleagues at CFF.
