CDC Sets Aside $320 Million for Upgrading Somaliland’s Berbera Port

Somaliland’s Berbera Port is set to benefit from the injection of more than $320 million from the United Kingdom’s CDC to improve its existing infrastructure.

The investment is part of the joint venture between CDC and the DP World of Dubai.

The two firms have set aside $1.7 billion on several infrastructural projects around the African continent.

DP World runs several projects in the continent.

These include ports in Somaliland, Egypt, and Senegal.

CDC announced that the investment is designed to boost domestic and international trade in the continent.

The investment allows CDC to own a minority stake in Berbera Port.
