Ceremony Held to Celebrate Dr. Nur’s Reappointment as Somalia’s Health Minister

A ceremony to celebrate the reappointment of Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur as the Minister of Health was held in Mogadishu on Thursday, October 22.

The ceremony was held at Jazeera Hotel, located in the nation’s capital.

Dr. Nur was reappointed the Minister of Health by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Monday October 19 when he announced his new cabinet ministers.

She was one of the 15 ministers retained from the past regime that was led by the former immediate Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.

Dr. Nur is now part of the 27 cabinet ministers expected to serve for the next four months.

This cabinet would not be in office for long since the country is gearing up for parliamentary polls by December 2020.

A new government with its own cabinet is likely to be formed afterward.

Several officials from the health ministry, including its Director General, and representatives from the Office of the President and that of the Prime Minister were at the event.
