Chairman of Somalia’s Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee Dies of COVID-19

The Chairman of the Federal Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee has succumbed to COVID-19 in Mogadishu.

Chairman Abdullahi Abyan Nur died of COVID-19 complications on August 13.

He died at De Martini Hospital.

De Martini Hospital is the biggest COVID-19 medical facility in not only Mogadishu but also the entire country.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo sent condolences to the family and friends of the late Nur.

Nur’s death comes at a time when the country has started holding elections for Upper House seats. Several Federal Member States (FMS) have already held these elections.
