A large explosion has rocked Jubbaland’s administrative capital of Kismayo. According to witnesses and authorities, the explosion was heard early on Friday afternoon.
Furthermore, reports indicate that a prolonged gunfight followed the explosion.
Immediate reports show that Shafi’i Raabi, the Chairman of the Jubbaland Chamber of Commerce, was killed in the deadly attack.
Witnesses said that he was killed with several other people in a suicide bombing attack that took place outside a mosque in the capital.
Authorities believe that the attack specifically targeted Raabi.
