China has announced plans to launch the Initiative of Peaceful Development for the Horn of Africa region.
Wang Yi, Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced this program on Wednesday, January 12.
In his announcement, Wang Yi indicated that the program would support countries in the Horn of Africa region.
The initiative would help such countries to firmly address and tackle issues related to security, development, and governance.
Somalia is one of the countries earmarked to benefit greatly from the initiative.
Somalia already enjoys stellar diplomatic relations with China.
