The Chinese government has promised to finance the repair and equipping of several institutions in Somalia.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between China and Somalia on December 6 listed the institutions to benefit from this.
The institutions include Radio Muqdisho, the National Theater, and the Somali National News Agency (SONNA).
Osman Dubbe, Somalia’s Minister of Information, signed the MoU with Fei Shengchao, the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia.
Ambassador Shengchao said that the institutions would have state-of-the-art features once the repairs are complete.
