A cholera outbreak that started last year has killed nine individuals in Middle Shabelle and Hiraan.
The latest report from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) shows that the outbreak is just as deadly as ever.
The report shows that 474 cases were reported in various parts of Somalia in the last one week.
Furthermore, OCHA reported that the outbreak seems to be spreading into areas hitherto considered safe.
Consequently, OCHA appeals to its partners to scale up their responses fast.
It also appeals for the opening up and operationalization of new diagnosis and treatment centers all over the country.
OCHA also targets over 480,000 Somalis in the affected areas for the cholera vaccine.
